CrocoJam16
A downloadable CrocoJam16 for Windows
Long after civilization crumbled, an old patrol robot still follows its last directive: protect the peace.
You can watch the whole scene here:
The robot is directly inspired by the PS1 game Future Cop L.A.P.D. His name is Alpha X-1.
The dryad is my OC and is called Lenya. I took the jam as an opportunity to model her in Crocotile.
The ladybug is a little homage to a good friend whom we affectionately call "Käfer" (beetle in german).
This is the first time I made something "organic" in Crocotile. I learned how to rig and animate in Crocotile (most animations were still made in Godot). Normally I use Blockbench, but I will switch to Crocotile from now on.
Another challenge I set for myself was to "embrace the jank." Not everything is perfectly pixel-aligned like I usually try to do. The scales are off and so on, but for a jam, I think it's fine and I learned a lot.
Time spent (according to the "CrocoClock"):
-
Lenya: >15h
-
Robot: >9h
-
Street: >2h (wow, that's super quick for me)
-
Ladybug: >1h
-
Godot: a couple of hours
Tools used:
-
Crocotile
-
Aseprite
-
